Reactive attribution
when we evaluate the behavior as relatively involuntary or accidental
Reciprocal strategies
One of Selman's interpersonal negotiation strategies in which children realize that one must get agreement from both parties, but they don't understand that these must be mutually satisfying agreements
Recognition
a type of confirming behavior in which you recognize the other person is there and has sent a bid
Referent power
Influence we have because of personal charisma or because of the group we belong to
Reframing
we change the interpretation of an event or communication, we take threatening information or events and see something positive in it or vice versa
Regulators
the nonverbal communication behaviors that function as ",traffic signals",, vocal and gestural actions that control the flow of interactive speech
Relational bids
a meta-message that proposes how we define the relationship and how we define self and other in that relationship
Resistance point
In bargaining, the worst outcome you will accept and still settle
Retrospective goals
How we see our goals in conflict after the conflict has been managed - hindsight
Reward/coercion power
Influence we have because we have the ability to reward or punish someone
