Conflict Resolution Day 2009
This year, International Conflict Resolution Day is on October 15, 2009. You can view an abbreviated listing of events happening worldwide. In celebration of the CR Day, CREducation.org has put together a fun set of online games with conflict resolution content appropriate for different age levels. We've also scheduled a live webinar with some experienced conflict resolution video game developers for October 13th, and will be giving away copies of these games via a drawing on CR Day.
The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), the originators and promoters of CR Day, hosted two contests this year for teachers and their students. There was a Video Contest, geared toward College and University students. Students were invited to create and submit a two minute or less video depicting the power of conflict resolution. Submissions for the contest closed on October 1, 2009.
There was also an exciting Poetry Contest for students in elementary, middle/intermediate and high schools. The contest released a wave of creativity, with more than 150 entries coming from all across the country and abroad. See links to the right for more information on contest rules.
